At the northern end of the Highlands, we come in on Day #31, Monday Oct 5 from Moss Vale via Bowral, and will camp near Lake Alexandra.

Tuesday morning will see us heading north via Willow Vale, Braemar, then by tortuous means to Colo Vale, and on to Hill Top.

Original March:  What happened

From Moss Vale they marched in misty and bracingly cold weather to Bowral, one of the main tourist spots in New South Wales and were escorted from Chisholm’s Hill into town by the Mayor, the band and a cavalcade of young ladies ‘sitting their horses well’. That night they stayed at Mittagong, the ‘gateway to the Highlands’. The next morning they set off on the 26 mile March to Thirlmere.
