The Colo Vale community has plenty of ideas about the best way to welcome the Marchers on Tuesday October 6th. The whole school (~240 students) are going to wave flags and welcome the March into Colo Vale after the circuitous back road from Mittagong through Braemar.
Students will remember those diggers of a century ago with individual tales of 2 or 3 WWI soldiers at the recently opened Memorial in front of the Colo Vale Community Hall.
The Mittagong Bunnings will cook up a sausage sizzle storm for the hungry Marchers and anyone who comes to observe. And Colo Vale will benefit with a suitable gold coin donation for each sausage sizzled….
Then it’s off northwards through the cutting (the old railway line) to our next overnight stop at Hill Top.
