We stop here for 2 nights to help celebrate the Sesquicentenary of the town. We arrive from Wingello via Penrose Forest on Day # 26, Sept 30.

Wed 30th Sept – ~16:00 arriving in Bundanoon via  Old Wingello Rd, Ellsmore, Erith, Anzac Pde, Railway Ave up to where we are camping in the Public School grounds, as happened 100 years ago.
Our daily ceremony follows at 17:00 at the Cenotaph, followed by dinner at 18:00 kindly provided by the Bundanoon RSL.

Thurs 1st Oct – A BIG hearty BREAKFAST will be supplied by the Bundanoon Community Association, which event includes the local community of course.
10:30 The Premier of NSW arrives in Bundanoon to participate in two commemorations: Bundanoons 150th and the Kangaroo March 100th!
We’ll start with our Daily Commemorative Ceremony honouring the soldiers of Bundanoon in WWI. Then the Premier will hear the RSL Rural Commemorative Youth Choir headed up by OJ Rushton, our Musical Director.

Marchers can then buy lunch at a range of cafes in the village
After dinner, at 18:00 the Melting Pot Theatre will perform two plays (relevant to the era) in Memorial Hall, with supper to follow. Eyes right to see more about that gig!

Fri 2nd Oct, our Day #28: – ~09:00 Bundanoon Village will bid farewell to the well rested and well fed Marchers! We certainly will be! then via Ellsmore Road and Middle Road we will approach Exeter, due in to what is home town for most of the organisers at ~11:30. We hear that EVA (the local Village Association – gotta love the acronym!) is organising a lunch.

~13:30 we are expecting to head off from Exeter under the Rail bridge and on to the Werai Rd, followed by Mt Broughton Rd and Yarrawa Rd.

~16:00 we hope to be entering Moss Vale via Spencer St and Arthur Street, followed by Mack Street, Kirkham Street and Elizabeth Street to the Showgrounds. ETA 17:00.


The Original March: What Happened

The Route March arrived in Bundanoon on the afternoon of December 29 and camp was made in the grounds of the Bundanoon Public School.
